Ask And It Shall Be Given

Ask and it shall be given. You've heard that before, haven't you? . . .

If not, maybe you didn't do it right. Not that there's a right way and a wrong way, but maybe you asked in one breath and doubted in the next breath. We all do that at times. That's like going one step forward, then two back, isn't it?

Maybe you said, *Lord, please take care of my problem*, then complained whenever you thought about the problem..

Can you remember a time like that? Were you complaining to your friends, your family, and anyone else that would listen? Some people feel they have to do that. If you are one of them, let's look at that for a moment.

When we are complaining to someone who isn't in a position to help us, who can just give us sympathy and reflect the problem back to us, what have we just done? We've taken our eyes off God and put our eyes on the problem. Didn't we just pray a few minutes ago for our problem to be solved? In effect, complaining means we've just took the problem back from God and are looking for another way to solve it.

Why not pray, then assume help is on the way? Because it is. But, oops, when we look at the problem as a problem or look elsewhere for help, we just took it back to where it was before we prayed. That doesn't work, does it?

That can be helped immediately. Just focus on God.

When you are focusing on God, ask the Angels to help you keep your focus there. Then, instead of telling our friends and family how bad things are or how badly things are going for you, tell them how joyful you feel for the help that is yours. Tell them how much you look forward to the healing of the situation.

Let your friends and family know that you no longer see a problem, that you see the solution coming your way and you are keeping your heart and your mind open to it. That you are keeping your eyes on the solution God is bringing to you.
